Hand-held and airleg mining incorporates the use of pneumatic rock drills and diesel-powered haulage equipment in the drilling, blasting, loading and haulage of both development waste material (mullock) or ore from producing levels underground. The conventional mining method is highly effective in low grade operations, or narrow-vein mines where a large mechanised footprint is not economically viable or sustainable.
